Chapter 12

As Corrine pouted and took advantage of the cable television and the greenery left behind, the boys in black were nearing the country, backwoods and dirt roads. Chapin, South Carolina. Somewhere along highway seventy-six, the black truck’s speed began to decelerate and the rear door of the trailer had begun to ascend. Two black on black Honda two fifty RR’s made their way down a metal ramp before it even connected with the street. One by one, the dirt bikes came out the back and weighed down the ramp, causing sparks to fly out in every direction. On the bikes were the wild boys, Tez and Zay. The youngsters completed the quartet that had been sitting at the table in the makeshift office.

Tez was rapper by nature, but a hustler by trade. He got down with the get down, which is why Rolex kept him on the team. If he wasn’t spitting the realest verses around or in the studio, he was on the grind and, for the right price, there wasn’t much he wouldn’t or couldn’t do. Zay, on the other hand, wasn’t as talented. His gift came as both a blessing and a curse. He was blessed with an eagle eye and spot on aim, but he was cursed with an itchy trigger finger. He lived by the motto, ‘Shoot first, fuck the questions.’ Both boys wore dog collars with tracking devices embedded within the leather. The home base was installed inside the truck. That way, while they were in the woods, should something happen, Nook would always have the drop on them. It was one of the many that Zay had designed.

The plan was to ride through the woods, locate Juice and Tay and have them follow them out to safety. If things got outta hand, Nook would be following on the road, in the truck, with the heat. Nook maneuvered the large truck on the gravel-covered street until he could hear the faint sounds of motorcycle engines in the distance.

“We comin’ up on em,” he spoke into the Samsung wrist device. The engines grew louder as they closed the distance between street and wooded area. “I got my eye on Tez and Zay,” Nook spoke aloud. “Boom, Juice and Tay right behind em. Aaannnd, here come the trouble. They ridin’ five deep.”

“Pew,” the silenced gun hissed and a biker slid to the ground. “Pew,” another bullet released, and another, until the team went racing past and there were bodies left in the rearview.

They stayed on course via back roads and followed them to an abandoned home in the middle of about two acres of unkempt grass. By the time they reached the old dilapidated house, the bikers were standing around making jokes about the evening’s events.

“Word, my nig, ask Tay. I was straight wildin’ on they dog ass,” Juice boasted. “The only reason we called was because we was outnumbered by them puss ass Pomaria dudes.”

“You seen them bikes fallin’?” Tay asked. “Bitch ass niggas layin down left and right.
